About the  Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Coordinator to join our team at our Munda Mia Therapeutic Community (MMTC). The role will ensure the effective running of the Therapeutic Community (TC) program within a residential  setting.

The Clinical Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Service Manager and deliver evidence-based, best practice residential treatment services to the residents of the program whilst meeting outcomes and funding performance  indicators.

The Clinical Coordinator is required to work in the context of a TC, facilitating Community as Method (CAM) treatment approach and providing leadership and support to the  team.

About the  Program:

MMTC is a 20-adult-bed female-only program (including the staffing team) where residents have the opportunity to bring their children into treatment. The program focuses on alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment and Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) issues, as well as co-occurring mental health concerns, parenting support, and mitigating women returning to  homelessness.

The position will be located at Munda Mia Therapeutic Community, located in  Kalamunda.

Due to the nature of this role, in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, Division 5, section 27, this position is to be occupied by females  only.

Level 6/7 $115,053 -$126,889 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)

To be appointed / successful in this role, you will require the following key qualifications, skills, and  experience:

  • A degree in social, behavioural, or health  sciences.
  • Well-developed leadership  skills.
  • Experience managing and supporting a team, maintaining cooperative relationships with stakeholders, showing initiative, and operating with sound  judgment.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the provision of treatment for people with AOD issues, such as group work, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and  counselling.
  • Solid experience and demonstrated skills working with women and children who have experienced the impacts of  FDV.
  • Solid experience and demonstrated skills working with children in a therapeutic  setting.
  • Solid experience in providing clinical supervision and oversight of a clinical program targeted at vulnerable client  groups.
  • Experience working within a culturally secure framework, with a focus on Aboriginal residents and  staff.
  • Excellent communication skills and competence using the Microsoft  suite.
  • Adept in self-management and organising multiple tasks within a team  environment.

An opportunity exists for a Clinical Coordinator with leadership experience to support and lead one of WA’s leading residential alcohol and drug treatment services.

About the Role:

The role of Clinical Coordinator will ensure the effective running of the Therapeutic Community (TC) Program within the residential setting at Nannup TC. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will deliver evidence-based, best practice residential treatment service to residents of the program whilst meeting outcomes and funding performance indicators.

The Clinical Coordinator is also required to work in the context of a TC, facilitating the Community of Method (CAM) treatment approach and provide leadership and support to the team. The role will also contribute to the ongoing development of our organisation.

The role is full-time at the Nannup Therapeutic Community facility located in a beautiful rural setting near Nannup in the Southwest of Western Australia.

Salary range – Level 6/7 $115,053 – $126,889 per annum

The Clinical Coordinator will oversee the following services that operate at the Nannup TC facility:

 1. Nannup Therapeutic Community – Kongal Wirin Program: The Kongal Wirin program is a 20-bed long-term alcohol and other drug residential treatment program utilising the Therapeutic Community model of treatment.

 2. Nannup Withdrawal Unit (NWU): The NWU is a three-bed low-medical residential withdrawal unit. Consumers accessing this service often continue   onto the Kongal Wirin Program after completing their withdrawal at the NWU.

The role of Counsellor Educator is to provide group and/or individual treatment to consumers involved in the criminal justice system to enable them to reduce the impact and harm of alcohol and other drug use on their lives and the lives of others.

This role will primarily deliver the group-based Pathways program in the public Perth metropolitan prisons.

The position is offered as a full-time role working 76 hours per fortnight and will be located at our Perth office on Fitzgerald Street. There will be an expectation of travel to and from various Correction Services.

Level 4/5 $93,490 – $110,413 per annum depending on experience.

To be appointed / successful in this role you will require the following key qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Possess a sound knowledge of alcohol and other drug issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Hold a Certificate III in Community Services and AOD and/or experience working with Aboriginal people in an AOD service (minimum).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willing to take an active role in Continuous Quality Improvement, learning, and contributing to service excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate, and Current Driver’s Licence.

Desirable competencies and experience:

  • Have an understanding of the 12-step philosophy and “Community as a Method Treatment Model”.
